The Underlying Mechanism of Action of the Antidiarrheal Activity of the Aqueous Extract of Salvia Verbenaca

Ethnopharmacology relevance: Salvia verbenaca which belongs to the family of Lamiacaeae grows spontaneously in several regions in Morocco,
where the dried leaves and flowers have a folkloric repute in the treatment of gastrointestinal symptoms, most commonly diarrhoea and dysentery
and as diuretic agent. However, to the best of our knowledge, there is no scientific study justifying the traditional use of Salvia verbenaca in these
conditions.
Aim of the study: The present study is designed to investigate scientifically and to provide pharmacological evidences on the antidiarrheal,
