Abstract
Synthesis, structure and antimicrobial activity of Co(II) and Cu(II) complexes with 2-imino, 4-thiobiuret

MishraThe coordination complexes of Co (II) and Cu (II) with the Schiff base derived from 4- aminoacetophenone and 1-acetonaphthone with 2-imino, 4-thiobiuret have been synthesized and characterized by micro analytical data, FT-ir and FAB mass spectral studies. Synthesized complexes have been tested for the reactivity and substitution behavior. The Schiff base and metal complexes shows a good activity against the Gram-positive bacteria; Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus and Gram-negative bacteria; Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa; Candida albicans, Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus fumigatus and Fusarium oxysporum fungal cultures.
