A series of new pyrazolo[3,4-c]pyrazole derivatives bearing indole moiety (3a-c and 5a-c) have been prepared by making by use of 3-methyl-4-((5-methyl-2-phenyl-3H-indol-3-yl)methylene)- 1H-pyrazol-5(4H)-one and 3-methyl-4-((4,7-dichloro-2-phenyl-3H-indol-3-yl)methylene)-1Hpyrazol- 5(4H)-one as a key intermediates obtained by the reaction of Substituted 2-phenyl indoles-3-carboxaldehydes and 3-methyl-1H-pyrazol-5(4H)-one. The structure of the newly synthesized compounds have been confirmed on the basis of their I.R, H1NMR and elemental analysis data and the newly synthesized compounds have been screened for their antibacterial activities.
