Abstract

Synthesis of novel phenyl azo chalcone derivatives for antitubercular, antiinflammatory and antioxidant activity

In the present study, an attempt has been made to synthesize some novel phenyl azochalcone derivatives for biological activity chaclone were prepared from 4-aminoacetophenone, diazotization of the amino ketone followed by Claisen Schimdt condensation and finally coupling of diazo group with various reagents gave phenylazochalcone. The structure of the compounds has been confirmed by IR, NMR (1H & 13C), mass spectral data and elemental analysis. All the derivatives were screened for antitubercular activity by MABA method, in-vitro antiinflammatory activity by BSA method and antioxidant activity by DPPH method.
