Synthesis, characterization and antimicrobial activity of some novel s-triazine derivatives incorporating quinoline moiety

This paper discuss a series of s-Triazine derivativ es based quinoline demonstrate a wide range of biol ogical activity.In the present investigation 4,7 –dichlor oquinoline as taken as starting material and treate d with ethylene diamine afforded 4-substituted 7-chloroquinoline,Wh ichfurther reacted with 1,5-disubstituted cyanuric chloride yielded 1,3,5-triazine chloroquinoline derivatives. All the synthesized compounds were characterized us ing IR ,H 1, C 13 NMR, mass spectral studies and elemental analysis. The final compounds were screened for their anti bacterial activity using E.coli,S-aureus and S.typh i and antifungal activity.
