Synthesis and in vitro evaluation of novel rhodanine derivatives as potential antimicrobial activities

3-cyclohexyl-2-thioxothiazolidin-4-one 1 was used as a precursor for the synthesis of novel bisrhodanine and rhodanine derivatives via its reaction with some electrophilic reagents. The novel synthesized compounds were characterized by IR, 1H NMR and mass spectral studies. All the synthesized compounds were screened in vitro for their antibacterial and antifungal activities.
