Abstract
Synthesis and characterization of 2,7-dioxo-9-(N-substitutedphenyl)-1,2,7,8,9,10-hexahydro-1,8,9-triaza-anthracene-3,6-dicarboxylic acid diethyl esters

GiraseA series of new 2,7-dioxo-9-(N-substituted phenyl)-1,2,7,8,9,10-hexahydro-1,8,9-triaza-anthracene-3,6-dicarboxylic acid diethyl esters 2a-d were prepared by condensation of diethylmalonate with 2,6-diamino-1-(N-substituted phenyl)-1,4-dihydropyridine-3,5-dicarbaldehydes 1a-d which have been prepared according to our previous known procedure. The structures of the newly synthesized compounds have been confirmed on the basis of elemental analysis and spectral studies.
