Abstract
Synthesis and Antibacterial Evaluation of Substituted 3- Benzylquinoxaline Derivatives
Author(s): V.P.Devmurari, M.b.Goyani, N. P JivaniIn the present study, seven substituted 3-benzylquinoxalines were synthesized from substituted phenyl pyruvic acid and o-phenylenediamine. All the synthesized compounds were structurally elucidated by IR, Mass, NMR spectroscopy. Antibacterial activity of the synthesized compound was analyzed against a set of three gram negative and three gram positive microorganism by agar well diffusion method. Compound 5 showed very good antibacterial activity among all the compounds.
