The UV-absorption spectra of substituted aniline have been recorded in the UV/visible region in three solvents of different polarity. The effect of solvent polarity on the position and intensity of the absorption bands has been demonstrated. The variations in π→π* transitions corresponding to the main absorption bands of benzene are discussed. The influence of substituent on the absorption spectra is also discussed in this paper
