The paper describes the results of deposition of multi-wall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) (average diameter – 9 and 13 nm) in deionized water as an ideal hydrodynamic environment to simulate possible man-made disasters with their participation. It was shown that the ultrasonic treatment of the MWCNT solution in deionized water as an analogue of natural mixing leads to a decrease in the size of nanotube aggregates and changes in their microstructure. It was found that after two weeks in deionized water nanotube aggregates remain stable.
