Mesoporous Tin dioxide (SnO2) with varying weight % of Aluminium was prepared using hydrothermal method and was characterized by various techniques such as X- Ray Diffraction, FTIR, BET-surface area, pore size distribution and FESEM with EDAX. Analytical studies demonstrated that the as prepared SnO2 is in tetragonal rutile phase and the crystallite size was found to decrease with the Al substitution. It was also observed that the Al substitution increases the BET surface area and the pore radius was found to decrease.
