Halogenated aromatic amines are versatile building blocks in organic synthesis and form an important class of bioactive molecules in pharmaceutical chemistry. An array of novel methods and reagent systems has been developed to affect its synthesis. This review presents an overview of methods used for efficient and regioselective nuclear halogenation of deactivated aryl and Nheteroaryl amines.
