Abstract
An efficient and clean synthesis of 2-(5-substituted-7-phenyl- [1,2,4]triazolo[4,3-f]pyrimidin-3-yl)quinoxalines
Author(s): T. Kranthi Kumar, T.Thirupathaiah, E. Laxminarayana and M. Thirumala Chary*2-Mercapto-6-phenylpyrimidin-4-ol1, on reaction with POCl3 to afford 2,4-dichloro-6- phenylpyrimidine 2. Compound 2 on treating with quinoxaline-2-carbohydrazide 3 to furnish 2- (5-chloro-7-phenyl-[1,2,4]triazolo[4,3-f]pyrimidin-3-yl)quinoxaline 4. 2-(5-chloro-7-phenyl- [1,2,4]triazolo[4,3-f]pyrimidin-3-yl)quinoxaline 4 on treatment with different cyclic amines to yield 2-(5-substituted-7-phenyl-[1,2,4]triazolo[4,3-f]pyrimidin-3-yl)quinoxalines 5a-d. They have been screened for their antibacterial activity.
