Abstract
A microwave assisted synthesis of few 7-mercaptobenzimidazolyl fluoroquinolones

VenkatramanA series of new 7-mercaptobenzimidazolyl fluoroquinolone compounds (3a-e)were synthesized using microwave irradiation technique starting from (3S)-9, 10-difluoro-3-methyl-7-oxo-3,7-dihydro-2H-[1,4]oxazino[2,3,4- ij]quinoline-6-carboxylic acid. The structures of the synthesized compounds were established on the basis of their spectral and analytical data and were found in good agreement with that of the compounds obtained by conventional chemical methods.
